Explore our Grantham golf course, Lincolnshire .

Here at Belton Woods we’re proud to have hosted numerous PGA tournaments over the years, making us one of the top golf resorts in the East Midlands. Our 36 hole golf complex is made up of two courses that offer totally different golfing experiences. The Lakes puts your skills to the test with water hazards and bunkers, while The Woods gives you the chance to practise your swing on narrow tree-lined fairways with undulating greens.

If your game needs work, head to our practice green and TrackMan Driving Range, or get expert tips from our resident PGA professional Iain Fulton. Then, when you’re all golfed out, take the banter to The Claret Jug clubhouse for a well-earned drink in front of Sky Sports.

Course information

Par - 72
Yardage 6,776

A real test for players, lakes guard the approaches to many of the greens, so course management and shot placement are key. The holes are long and the fairways tight, so anything wayward from the tee could result in you having to lay up in front of the water.

Our shorter (and more forgiving) woodside course, the fairways and natural hazards need careful negotiation - a real 'thinkers' course for high handicappers and pros alike. It’s slightly more undulating than The Lakes and is very picturesque, running by our on-site lodges.

Great overnight, golf break at Belton Woods
Had a great time at Belton Woods. Rooms are great. Food was great. (Matilda looked after us admirably). Fairways were very dry because of the weather. And greens were great. Thoroughly recommended.

It's up'ed its gane
I've stayed several times in the past and my last review included a couple of areas for improvement. This time I must say that the entire Hotel has 'up'ed it's game' considerable. The entire hotel has had a make-over to a good standard and now the public rooms are decorated appropriately and so are the bedrooms. There are plently of staff on reception, manning the bars and serving meals etc. They appear to be well trained and very helpful. The restaurant food is now excellent quality and there is a good choice. I also eat in the Charet Jug which offers a varied menu and at very reasonable prices. I will certainly stay again.
Overnight stay to meet friends
Very friendly staff, excellent dining experience and value for money. We would recommend the hotel and plan to return.
Lovely hotel
We stayed one night here, it was a wonderful hotel in a great setting The rooms were spacious and clean The highlight for us was the dinner, we asked for recommendations and Holly recommended the Filet Steak… she was not wrong, it was great! The service was brilliant All in all a great stay
Golf Trip
Great experience and golf weekend, exceptional service from Holly during the meal as well!
Great Facilities
The staff were very friendly and helpful in the bar & restaurant. Hotel has a great pool & steam room with excellent golf course.
Game of two halves
We booked Belton Hall with another couple - boys played golf, girls had a spa day. Our immediate impressions weren’t good. The reception staff seemed apathetic. No one helped us with the enormous number of cases and all the presents my very generous sister in law had brought us for our recent wedding - we spent a sweaty half an hour transporting it all down a very long and winding corridor on a wonky trolley as the boys were teeing off. The lunchtime sandwiches in the bar area were inedible - clearly the chef has never tasted his own creations. The prawn and avocado sandwich just tasted of mayonnaise, not worth the calories - I took one bite and left it. The lady taking the order was lovely, but flustered and got it wrong, one meal didn’t arrive, a request for brown bread ignored, when we politely asked what had happened to one of the meals, I received a blatant eye roll. Wow I thought, this place is putting me in a bad mood. But the spa treatment was delightful - loved my therapist Bathsheba. Our evening meal was absolutely delicious - steaks, scallops, guinea fowl, a delicious mushroom starter were all perfect. We were served by the lovely Matilda who coped admirably with the order, meal vouchers and splitting the bill. The rooms on the ground floor have no air con, and are a bit dated, but spacious and clean with a comfortable bed. The communal areas are lovely - modern, spacious and recently refurbished. Breakfast was excellent. It’s an odd place - there’s a lot of bits of paper to negotiate, meal vouchers, free drinks etc. The pool is pretty awful - worse than our local leisure centre and as mentioned one member of staff was downright rude, but most are delightful. The golf course is obviously popular. This place could be a gem, if management could tweak out the problems. Thanks to the evening meal chef, Bathsheba and Matilda, we had a lovely time. Thank you to them.
