Twyford Woods Circular
23 minute drive | Time: 1 hour
Get back in touch with nature . One of the best walks near Grantham for tourists and locals alike. This mostly flat, circular route through woodland is lined with local wildlife and is easy enough for casual walkers to complete.
Dogs are welcome but may need be kept on leads in some areas.
Marston Circular
15 minute drive | Time: 2 hours approx
Stroll along the water. An easy stroll down and across the River Witham, walking the Marston Circular is the perfect way to spend a quiet morning or afternoon exploring Lincolnshire. See a different side to Lincolnshire but be warned, the path can get muddy in wet conditions, so make sure you bring your wellies.

Londonthorpe Wood
7 minute drive | Time: 20 mins approx
A child-friendly trail. Part of the Woodland Trust, this peaceful walk only takes 20 minutes, and is perfect for burning off some of your little ones’ energy. There’s easy access to parking nearby and Belton Park to the north is filled with more trails if you get the walking bug.

Stathern & Barkestone Woods
26 minute drive | Time: 3.5 hours approx
For a longer Lincolnshire walk. Enjoy a breath of fresh air on a circular trail that takes in Stathern, Plungar and Barkestone Woods and the Grade I listed Belvoir Castle. The sometimes-muddy walk is lined with beautiful views of the Lincolnshire countryside and is the perfect way to spend a lazy morning or afternoon.

Spa Trail
48 minute drive | Time: 1 hour approx
This peaceful, traffic-free trail follows a former railway line from Horncastle to Woodhall Spa, winding through woodland, canal-side stretches, and gently rolling countryside. The route is surfaced and accessible - ideal for walkers, cyclists, and families with pushchairs. Along the way you’ll spot sculptures that evoke the local history and wildlife, adding an artistic touch to the journey. It’s a calm and restorative walk perfect for reconnecting with nature and exploring Lincolnshire’s rural charm.
Fiskerton Short Walk
44 minute drive | Time: 1.5 hour approx
This 5.5-mile circular walk takes you through the ancient Lincolnshire Limewoods, passing riverside meadows along the River Witham and glimpses of medieval abbey ruins. The woodlands are rich in history - believed to have been continuously forested for thousands of years - and offer a haven for wildlife and tranquillity. The walk also traces part of the historic Viking Way, giving a sense of continuity with Lincolnshire’s past.
